Cover size depends on more than trim size. Your page count, paper and binding also affect the expected dimensions. KDP Check brings those settings into the review and adds AI analysis of the cover layout, including text placement and the barcode area.

The interior checker reviews PDF specifications, including consistent page dimensions, page count, fonts and image resolution. It works with print PDFs exported from your design software as well as files created in KDPEasy.
Interior checks cover file preparation; they do not proofread spelling or grammar or visually inspect every page for layout issues. Finish with your own review in KDP Print Previewer and a physical proof. Then introduce the finished book on your author website.

What files can I check?
Upload a PDF cover, a PDF interior or both, with a limit of 100 MB per file. Covers are checked against the book settings you select. Interiors receive file-specification checks. The checker is intended for print PDFs rather than EPUB files or Word manuscripts.
Can I check files made outside KDPEasy?
Yes. You can upload print PDFs exported from other book design and layout tools. They do not need to have been generated in KDPEasy.
How much does a KDP quality check cost?
Each cover or interior PDF costs 1 credit. Active memberships include 10 KDP Checks per month, shared between covers and interiors; further checks use credits. Checking both a cover and an interior uses two checks. The dashboard shows your remaining allowance and the cost before you run the check.
Does the checker guarantee Amazon KDP approval?
No. It helps identify file and cover-layout issues, but Amazon makes the final publishing decision. AI layout analysis can miss issues or flag something that needs your judgement. Review the report, use KDP Print Previewer and order a physical proof before approving your book.
Does it check spelling or automatically repair my PDF?
No. KDP Check reviews print-file specifications and cover layout, rather than spelling, grammar or manuscript content. It gives fix suggestions for your source file. A separate CMYK conversion tool is available when you want to convert a cover PDF.
What happens if AI cover analysis is unavailable?
File checks do not prove that the AI layout review completed. Look for the layout-analysis results and any unavailable or skipped warning. If the visual review is missing or unclear, confirm your book settings, inspect the layout yourself and try the check again. An incomplete visual review is not confirmation that the layout is correct.
