About Marcus
Marcus founded KDPEasy in 2023 after experiencing firsthand the frustration of creating professional book covers as an indie publisher. After spending years as an operations manager at a logistics company, he started publishing low-content books on Amazon KDP as a side hustle in 2019.
Despite having solid content, his books consistently underperformed—and he traced the problem back to mediocre covers. Hiring designers was expensive and slow. DIY tools were clunky and produced generic results. There had to be a better way.
Marcus taught himself to code over 18 months, taking online courses in Python, JavaScript, and eventually AI/ML fundamentals. The prototype that would become KDPEasy started as a weekend project to solve his own cover problems. When friends in his KDP community saw the results, they begged him to build it out.
Today, Marcus leads the company's vision and strategy while still getting his hands dirty with product decisions. He publishes 2-3 low-content books per quarter to stay connected with the author experience. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two kids (ages 7 and 4), and is convinced that the barrier to self-publishing success shouldn't be design skills.
